THE FORMAT FOR AN MLA PAPER Listed below are certain qualifications of a paper in the MLA format. Before you begin writing the paper, make sure that your margins, font, header, and etc. meet these guidelines.

Double-spaced
A header of your last name and the page number in the top right corner of every page
THE FIRST PAGE
There is no title page requirement for a paper in MLA format. On the first page of your paper you should have four opening lines. Your name will be on the first line. The teacher/professor’s name should be on the next line. The Course’s name will be on the next line, and the date that the paper is due will be on the fourth line. Press the ‘enter’ key twice. Then type and center the title of your paper. Immediately following the line that your title appears on, begin your paper.
